Seyi then realised that plastic waste pollution is a global challenge with Africa being one of the most affected regions, and Nigeria with a population of over 200 million people, generates an estimated 32 million tons of waste annually, with plastic waste contributing a significant portion.
Nigeria is among the top ten plastic waste polluters globally and is in dire need of an effective waste management strategy, particularly in plastic recycling.
Plastic waste collection for recycling can generally be termed as the "diamond in the rough" that hasn't been discovered by a large part of the population
